Waves, Whānau & a Love Worth Celebrating
Kiri + Bradley
The sound of the surf was never far away on Kiri & Bradley’s wedding day. Fitting really - these two Raglan sweethearts live for the ocean, and bringing their whānau together at Tatapouri Bay felt like the most natural way to celebrate.
This wasn’t a cookie-cutter wedding. It was a blend of salt air and marquee lights, heartfelt speeches and cheeky grins, with Kiri’s Ngāti Porou heritage woven beautifully throughout.
From waiata and karakia to the deep sense of whānau pride, the day carried both the joy of a party and the mana of tradition.
While Kiri and her bridesmaids got ready with Aimee Dillon on hair and Bec Karalus creating that effortless coastal-glow makeup, Brad and the boys debated whether they had time to sneak in a surf. Soon, surfboards were swapped for suits, and everyone gathered on the shoreline for a ceremony led by Patrick Tangaere. With the ocean behind them and loved ones around them, Kiri and Brad promised forever.
It wasn’t just a wedding - it was a celebration of whakapapa & whānau.
The reception was held just metres from the sand, in a marquee by Martins Party Hire. Guests tucked into an epic feast from Spitfire Catering, before the music started pumping thanks to Jacco, Alice, Paul & Corien Foote. MC Keg kept the night rolling with ease, but it was the speeches that stole the show - the laughter, the tears, and the way whānau stories blended effortlessly with love and humour.
Kiri half-joked about pulling Brad into a surprise routine to Chromeo’s “Needy Girl.” Whether he went for it or not, the thought alone sums them up: relaxed, cheeky, and up for anything.
