Picture this: golden wheat fields swaying in the breeze, a family garden-turned-wedding-venue in the heart of Methven, and the kind of party that starts with heartfelt vows and ends with sore feet from dancing. That was Emily & Scott’s wedding in a nutshell - a true South Island celebration, rooted in the land and fuelled by love (and beer, naturally).

Emily’s a Methven local, Scott’s a Waimate lad — both farm-raised and full of heart. Their wedding took place at Emily’s parents' place, where their garden became the perfect setting for both the ceremony and the reception. We’re talking rustic charm, wildflowers, paddock views and that unbeatable small-town magic only a backyard bash can deliver.

The vibe? Full harvest fest meets rural rager. These two weren’t after anything polished or posed - they wanted real, raw, and a damn good time.

Joseph O'Sullivan was behind the camera, capturing all the golden-hour magic and big belly laughs, while Brad Staley and the band kept the party rolling into the night. The dance floor was cranking, the energy was high, and the love was loud.

From start to finish, this wedding was all about connection - to each other, to family, to the land, and to the wild joy of throwing a party that felt 100% like them.
