A Wild Backyard Wedding Adventure with Helicopters, Sax Solos & Full Send Vows
Grace + Brendon
Some weddings feel like a beautifully planned event.
Others - like Grace & Brendon’s - feel like a full-blown adventure with vows in the middle.
From claybird shooting in the morning to a champagne-fuelled flight over the Port Hills, this day had it all. Grace (the sky-loving flight attendant) and Brendon (the toolbelt legend from Springston) threw a backyard wedding that was equal parts heartfelt, hilarious, and high-flying.
They said "I do" beneath wide Canterbury skies on a lifestyle block in Norwood, with Struan McCaskill bringing the warmth and wit. Then — because why not? — they jumped into two Christchurch Helicopters, soared out to a private farm on the hills above Akaroa (cheers, best man's neighbour) with the amazing Sarah Clements capturing all the glory & chaos.
Back at the marquee, styled to perfection by Little Hire Company and Silk Estate, the party was well underway. Guests swayed to smooth sax & vocals by Ben & Lee during cocktail hour. The couple made their grand entrance to 'Jubel' with Ben on saxophone - a total highlight, and later, Flat City Brotherhood lit up the dance floor with pure Kiwi soul.
This was joy, this was chaos, this was them.
This film captures the wild hearts, the hilltop chaos, the belly laughs, the dance floor madness, and the gentle moments in between.
