From California to Wanaka
Addie & Jason’s Party of a Lifetime
Some weddings are worth the wait - and Addie & Jason’s was definitely one of them. After five years, three reschedules (two thanks to COVID and one thanks to building a house), these two finally got to say “I do” in the dream location they now call home: Wanaka.
Their Story
Addie, originally from Southern California, and Jason, a Palmerston North lad, first crossed paths in Perth over nine years ago. Their journey has taken them across the world, but in 2021 Wanaka became home. Together, they’re adventurous, easy-going, and always up for the good times.
The Wedding Vibe
Held at the breathtaking Glendhu Station, the day blended rustic charm with pure party energy. From the very start, Addie & Jason made it clear they weren’t fussed about sticking to traditions - they wanted something that reflected them: fun, personal, and unforgettable.
And unforgettable it was. With guests flying in from around the world, it felt less like a wedding and more like a reunion. There were college friends catching up after a decade, rowdy Kiwis keeping the bar busy, and a dance floor that went full throttle late into the night.
Jason summed it up best: “We’re here to have a good 🤙 time, not a cry time.”
The Dream Team
Every detail came together with the help of some incredible vendors. Their ceremony was led by the wonderful Fi Mangos, with Jim Culley behind the camera capturing stills while we filmed the moving moments. Styling magic came courtesy of Louise – The Bride Stylist on hair and Janine Joseph on makeup, while blooms from The Green Room brought a touch of romance to Glendhu Station’s rustic backdrop.
Speeches were guided along by MC Chris and after an epic first dance (yep, they’d been taking lessons!), the party hit full swing with live tunes from The Dirty Money Duo, Guests were well fed thanks to The Stoker Room . Addie stunned in a gown from Grace Loves Lace. Bridesmaids rocked dresses from Birdy Grey, and the rings were by Michael Hill and Waka Jewellers.
And of course, the magic of the day wouldn’t have been the same without everyone behind the scenes - including guest-cam operators Amanda & Ebony helping us capture those candid moments.
The Feels
What made this wedding truly stand out wasn’t just the stunning backdrop or the epic party vibes - it was the people. Addie told us she loved how our films capture the essence of the day and the personalities within it. “I cried for people I didn’t even know,” she said after watching our other couples’ films. That’s exactly the energy we brought to theirs - capturing every laugh, every tear, and every wild move on the dance floor. Go well you two, this one’s for you! 🥂
